SUSPENDED SENTENCES FOR CITY BROTHERS FOR DRUNKEN ANTICS

A man captured on CCTV defecating in the front porch of a city centre hotel while very intoxicated was given a suspended four-month prison sentence at Galway District Court this week

40 year old Martin Collins of 3 Cois na Coille, Ballybane, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage at the Imperial Hotel, Eyre Square, by defecating in its front porch at 4.10 p.m. on February 6 last.

He also pleaded guilty to being drunk and a danger to himself and others on the same occasion.

Martin Collins’ brother, Patrick Collins, of the same address, who was with his brother when he went to the toilet in the hotel porch, pleaded guilty to breaching the peace and to being drunk and a danger to himself and others on the same occasion.
