SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR CONNEMARA PHONE PEST

A 25 year old Connemara man has been given a 13 month suspended prison sentence for making menacing phone calls to Rape Crisis Centres and other health care facilities in Galway and around the country.

Padraig Conroy of Lehenagh, Cashel pleaded guilty to eleven counts of making offensive phone calls to staff at four centres in Galway, one in Naas county Kildare and another in Dublin at various times in 2007 and 2008.
