SURVEY TO EXAMINE LOUGH CORRIB FISH STOCK

A major survey to examine the level of fish stock in Lough Corrib is to be carried out at the end of the month.

It’s the first such study into adult fish population since 1996 and will take place over a two week period.

Kevin Crowley of Inland Fisheries Ireland says it aims to build a new genetic database on local fish stock.

A public information meeting to discuss the initiative will be held in the Menlo Park Hotel next Monday [Feb 13 ] at 7pm.
