The founder of the Supermacs chain, Galway’s Pat McDonagh, is slamming a Government plan to enforce earlier closing times for fast-food outlets.

Justice Minister Brian Lenihan is planning to close take-aways and food outlets before nightclubs shut in a bid to curb drink-related violence.

According to today’s Irish Independent, Pat McDonagh says it’s unfair to target fast-food chains, which he says are not the direct cause of the problem.
