Submissions for Ballinasloe Headford and Portumna area plans under review

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway County Council is reviewing submissions received on new Local Area Plans for Ballinasloe, Headford and Portumna.
The County Council will shortly begin compiling draft plans expected to go on public display in October or November of this year.
19 submissions were received for Portumna, 7 for Headford and 7 for Ballinasloe.
The plans will set out a framework for the future development of the towns for a minimum of six years and address key issues including economic opportunites, flood risk, infastructure, community facilities and heritage and nature conservation.
Background issues papers have been prepared for each of the towns and are available from County Hall and the Tuam, Ballinasloe and Portumna County Council offices and libraries.
The County Council will shortly begin compiling draft plans expected to go on public display in October or November of this year.
