STUDENTS REASSESS OPTIONS AS GALWAY COLLEGES PUBLISH SECOND ROUND OFFERS

Students wishing to study in Galway are today reassessing their options as many courses at the city’s third level colleges record changes to point requirements.

It comes as 3-thousand-200 Leaving Cert students receive second round offers from the CAO this morning.

Courses at NUI Galway have largely remained the same, however Biomedical Science at the Newcastle campus has dropped 10 points to 540, and Corporate Law has also experienced a further fall from 350 to 340.

Speech and Language had a slight drop of five points to 520.

In GMIT, the Film and Documentary Level 8 course fell from 430 to 385.

The lower level Film and Television course also dropped by 40 points to 360.

The Computer and Electronic Engineering course went down from 265 to 255 and Culinary Arts also fell by 10 points.
