NUI Galway first year medical students – one of whom travelled to Poland to provide support to refuges – worked with the Galway Salthill Rotary Club and Dunnes Stores to raise €4,315 to help Ukrainian families.

Students Harn Yeap and Aoibhe D’Arcy are pictured with (from left) Gloria Avalos, Lecturer, School of Medicine, NUI Galway; Pat Hobbert, President of Galway Salthill Rotary Club; and Dr Peter Gormley, Galway Salthill Rotary Club member.

Aoibhe, from Tuam, travelled to Poland to work as a volunteer to provide support to the Ukrainian families in Zamosc, located on the border between Poland and Ukraine.

Galway Salthill Rotary Club is dedicating all collections in April to the Ukrainian refugee crisis and have a collection box located at the end of the Salthill Prom.
