STRONG TURNOUT IN GALWAY POLLING STATIONS

A strong turnout is being reported across both Galway constituencies so far in General Election 2011.

In Connemara, the numbers voting are higher than usual at lunchtime, with Roundstone reporting a 22 per cent turn out by 1 o’clock.

In the Galway East constituency, turnout was high in places like Gurteen which reported a 25 per cent turnout at 1 o’clock.
