STRONG LOCAL CAMPAIGN TO KEEP PRIEST IN BALLYCONNEELY

Another Connemara area is to be without a resident priest from the middle of next month.

Ballyconneely, which is in the Archdiocese of Tuam, will have no priest after Fr John Dunleavey retires in July.

Local people who are upset about the change have had a meeting with the Archbishop of Tuam and are calling on Dr Neary to visit Ballyconneely to discuss the matter further.
