Strong interest reported in local auction properties

The two-bed cottage in Clarinbridge which sold for €155,000.

The Connacht Property Auction held their first public auction of the year last week, and 14 of the 17 properties on offer were sold.

A two-bed thatched cottage located just off Main Street in Clarinbridge. The property was offered for sale in partnership with RE/MAX Property Experts in Galway. There was strong local and ‘outside’ interest in this well-located property, with over 40 enquiries before selling under the hammer at the live auction event for €155,000. The guide price was €170,000.

In Oranmore, also in partnership with RE/MAX Property Experts a well-located bungalow was sold. The property at Carnmore West, which was presented in great condition throughout, had early interest and was sold for €252,500. The guide price was €270,000.

An exceptional 4 bed family home was sold in partnership with O’Malley Properties, Westport. The property at Slauger, Westport was subject to strong pre-auction interest and the vendor decided to accept a bid of €305,000 prior to the live event. The guide price was €275,000.

Elsewhere in Mayo, a three-bed family residence along with a separated, self-contained 1 bed apartment located in Coolagagh, Foxford was successfully sold. Both properties sold as one lot in partnership with Gerry Rowland Auctioneers and had significant interest in the lead up to the auction event, before selling for €220,000.
