STORM WARNING FOR GALWAY

There’s a severe weather alert for Galway and the West today.

Met Eireann has issued a warning of extremely windy and wet weather with gale force winds and heavy downpours in western counties.

Winds will reach storm force 10 at times.

Counties Galway, Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Clare and Kerry will be the worst hit.

Motorists are being advised to drive carefully and watch out for fallen debris on the roads.
