The elimination of Fidelma Healey-Eames (FG) after the 11th count was enough to bring sitting TD Padraic McCormack FG over the quota.

Thie distribution of McCormack’s surplus was not enough to bring either of the other two sitting TDs, Noel Grealish (PD) and Frank Fahey (FF) over the quota.

However as they both had more votes than the only other remaining candidate, Michael Crowe (FF), both were declared elected to fill the final two seats in Galway West
