CITY TRIBUNE
Soulful evening with Aran’s Pádraig Jack
Aran Islands singer-songwriter Pádraig Jack will be in concert at the City’s Crane Bar Friday, November 24, as part of a mini-tour of Ireland.
It’s been a busy 2017 for Pádraig, who wowed audiences at packed headline shows at the Westport Bluegrass Festival and the Castlebar Wild Atlantic Words Literary Festival.
His soulful, bilingual music was also well-received at County Down’s Soma Festival and at Belfast’s Liú Lúnasa Festival as well as at Electric Picnic, where he made his debut appearance. Other shows this year included one in Berlin and a local concert in Galway City’s Áras na nGael – again audiences loved him.
Pádraig Jack has also played support for the Saw Doctors and Mick Flannery in recent times.
Padraig’s debut single bagged him two NÓS Music Award nominations and was shortlisted for the prestigious Pan-Celtic Music award.
His latest single Can’t Find My Way Home/I bhFostú sa bhFiántas, a song which imagines what it might be like to be lost at sea in a storm, was released in June with its first play on Raidió na Gaeltachta. It was also played on iRadio and RTÉ Radio 1 and was featured as joe.ie’s song of the day this summer.
The video for the single features Aran Islands artist Mícheál Ó Ceallaigh creating beautiful imagery to complement the song.
