SOLUTION IDENTIFIED FOR GALWAY SCHOOL-LEAVERS WITH DISABILITIES

A solution has been idenified to secure further training opportunities for Galway school leavers with profound disabilities.

It follows a meeting in the city last evening [May 28] between the Brothers of Charity and Minister of State Kathleen Lynch.

44 Galway students with intellectual disabilities are due to leave school in the coming months – 8 of these have severe to profound disabilities.

Galway West Labour Deputy Derek Nolan atteneded last evening’s consultation over ongoing funding difficulties at the service provider.

He told Galway Bay fm news that a solution has been identifed by the Minister to ensure this group is catered for.
