The Justice Minister is being urged to re-open an investigation into a military plane crash in Connemara almost 4 years ago.

22-year-old Cadet, David Jevens and Captain Derek Furniss were killed in the training crash near Cornamona on October 12th 2009.

The Jevens family have consistently raised concerns about the military inquiry into the crash and asked the Justice Minister to review the case.

However, Minister Alan Shatter has declined to re-open the case stating that the concerns raised by the young cadet’s family don’t directly bear on the accident.

The family have indicated that they may take their case to Europe.
