SOCIAL JUSTICE CAMPAIGNER TO SPEAK AT GALWAY SEMINAR

Social justice campaigner Fr. Sean Healy is coming to Galway to speak on the issue of poverty in rural Ireland.

Organised by Irish Rural Link, the seminar is taking place next Tuesday in the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry.

It aims to investigate ways in which rural communities can work together to combat poverty. Rural areas tend to be more at risk of poverty due to population trends, poor access to services and limited employment opportunities.

The seminar is supported by the Social Inclusion Division of Rural Link and is being held to coincide with the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
