Galway Bay fm newsroom – Soaring demand for quality family homes is driving the growth of the property market in Galway.

That’s according to today’s Irish Independent, which says an analysis of the Property Price Register shows that cities like Dublin, Galway and Cork have experienced a surge in activity.

One house on Dalysfort Road in Salthill- which sold for €290,000 in 2011- went for €400,000 earlier this year, an increase of 37 percent.

Nationally, the highest growth in sales was seen in counties Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford.

In Galway, the property markets in high-demand areas like Knocknacarra and Salthill have seen an increase, while there was a slight fall in sales in Renmore.
