Smile says it all

WITH A SMILE like a Cheshire cat, Councillor Michael ‘Stroke’ Fahy made a low key entrance back to County Hall for the first time since he was incarcerated in April having been found guilty of seven charges brought under the Larceny and Theft and Fraud Offences Acts last March at Galway Circuit Criminal Court.
Cllr. Fahy walked free from the Four Courts last Wednesday after the Court of Criminal Appeal set aside his conviction and ordered that a retrial take place and last night he made the lone journey up the steps of County Hall, Prospect Hill for the first time in nearly eight months.
He said nothing. He didn’t have to — his smile said it all.
Cllr. Fahy brushed past the waiting media, photographers and cameramen without making a comment and walked down the corridor toward the Council Chambers.
He was greeted by a number of his former Fianna Fáil colleagues who shook his hand and welcomed him back.
Cllr. Fahy resigned…….
