Wingin’ It is a new event in Galway, showcasing improvised comedy and theatre.

The monthly shows, which take place in The Loft @ Seven Bridge Street in the City, are hosted by members of Galway improve troupe, The Sky Babies.

Improv theatre and comedy is a dynamic art form where the performers create all the content on the spot. Often fuelled by audience ideas, no two shows are ever the same.

The core members of The Sky Babies are Zita McGowan, Órla Mc Govern, Darragh O’Brien and Niceol Blue.

The Sky Babies have been working the improv scene for the past three years, performing across Ireland in venues and festivals such as Electric Picnic, Ranelagh Arts, Town Hall Theatre, Galway Fringe Festival, and Improv Fest Ireland.

Most recently they have been joined by the former Director of Baboró Theatre Festival Lali Morris.

The Sky Babies also work regularly with a number of associate artists from around Ireland.

Their long-form show Suitcase was the opening event at the Galway Theatre Festival 2015 and was lauded by audiences.

Wingin’ It is held on the second Tuesday of each month and features guest performers from home and abroad.

Wingin’ It continues its monthly residency next Tuesday, August 11, at 8.30pm in The Loft @ Seven Bridge Street, when the ensemble will be joined by Ali Crocker, from the Brody Theatre in Portland, Oregon,.
