Sizzling sunshine promised for Galway this weekend
Get out the factor 20 sun block and the straw hats between now and the weekend with Galway expected to be the hottest spot in the country as temperatures again threaten to hit the magical 30°C mark.
Met Eireann are predicting that the West will be the hottest region in Ireland over the coming days with temperatures especially high over the Thursday to Saturday period.
Coastal breezes will moderate the heat in eastern and southern parts of the country but Galway and the West looks set to sizzle in temperatures that are set to equal last week’s high of 29°C.
Hot and humid nights will accompany the wall-to-wall daytime sunshine as an anticyclone known as the ‘Azores High’ sits over Ireland for the next week.
Weather-forecast.com who present 10 day predictive models of our weather patterns are not forecasting any real change until the Wednesday of July 24, when some rain is set to break through from the North West.
Our glorious summer weather looks set to help draw record crowds to the city for the height of the festival season between now and early August.
However HSE West has again asked people to be ‘sensible’ in their approach to the sun and to enjoy it ‘without getting burnt’.
Our hottest days look likely to be on this Thursday, Friday and Saturday with temperatures set to push very close to a record 30°C for the West of Ireland.
