Six Connemara FF candidates to contest local elections

Galway bay fm newsroom – Six connemara candidates will represent Fianna Fáil in the upcoming local elections.

Four candidates were automatically selected as they were the only nominees in their area – Mairtín Lee – South Connemara, Seamus Walsh – Oughterard, Noel Thomas – Moycullen and MacDara Hosty – Barna.

Josie Coneely was the succesful candidate for the west connemara regions winning against Mary Corbett Joyce by 167 votes to 116 votes.

Sean O’ Tuairisg was the succesful candidate for the Spiddal Ros a mhil and North Connemara region.

He was up against John Burke was won by 215 votes to 64.

The selection convention took place in Peacocks Maam cross last evening.
