SIX BEDS TO FINALLY RE OPEN AT ST FRANCIS NEWCASTLE

Six beds will be re-opened at a public nursing home in the city after being closed for almost five years.

The HSE announced yesterday that the beds at St. Francis Nursing home in Newcastle would be re-opened on a phased basis.

According to HSE proposals one bed will be opened every two weeks at the public nursing home.

The six beds had been empty at St Francis despite protests from Councillors and lobby groups.
