Simpsons producer to teach at NUIG

Film studies students at NUIG are preparing to welcome a famous new lecturer to their school with the news that the Executive Producer of The Simpsons, James L Brooks is to teach a course at the university next year.

The veteran producer is reported to be thrilled at the invitation to teach a course at the John Huston School of Film at the university. Brooks has become best known in recent years for his involvement with the cartoon series, The Simpsons, though he has also won three Oscars, and numerous Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his work in film and other hit TV shows in America.

The 67 year old producer revealed it was a recommendation from his friend, Martin Sheen — who was a student at NUIG last year — which helped make up his mind on teaching at the university.
