Signalised junction at Galway Shopping Centre to go live on November 4th

It’s the fourth in a series of changeovers to traffic light junctions as part of the city’s N6 multi-modal corridor improvement scheme.

Work in ongoing for some weeks now to remove the Bodkin roundabout with heavy disruption planned from 7 this evening until 7 tomorrow morning.

This is to facilitate the final phase of works which will involve increasing levels on approach roads to the junction.

A smaller roundabout will then be installed as a temporary measure.

Head of Galway Transportation Unit Joe Tansey told Galway Talks that the new structure will be live on November 4th.

He has also advised motorists to avoid the area this evening if possible.
