The man was the driver and sole occupant of a car, was aged 20, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of a jeep are in a “serious condition” at University Hospital Galway, while the injuries sustained by the driver and three passengers of a third vehicle are not life-threatening, according to Gardaí.
