Two cars have crashed in separate accidents on the M6 motorway, another single vehicle crash is reported from Brownsgrove near Tuam and and a truck has gone off the road near Kylemore Abbey in Connemara in icy driving conditions on Galway roads this morning (Sunday)

In the two separate crashes on the M6 Motorway, near the Galway exit, both vehicles have gone off the road but nobody has been seriously injured.

Gardai are warning motorists of patches of black ice on the motorway, both Eastbound and Westbound, as well as on other road around the county.

In Connemara a truck has gone off the road near a bad bend close to Kylemore Abbey on the Galway- Clifden Road.

Gardai says traffic is still moving in this area but has been slowed down due to the accident. This section of the road may have to be closed for a time later today when attempts are made to remove the truck.

At Brownsgrove near Tuam a driver escaped injury when a car went off the road on the Dunmore side of the Halway House bar.

Black ice is also thought to have been the cause of this crash.
