SELECTION CONVENTION FOR CANNONS COUNCIL SEAT PUT BACK

The PD convention to elect a replacement for Senator Ciaran Cannon on Galway County Council has been put back to November.

The selection convention was originally scheduled for next Monday October 15th , but it’s been deferred to Thursday November 15th to coincide with a visit by Minister for Health, Mary Harney

Two candidates have so far put their names forward to contest the vacant seat on Galway county council.

They include Loughrea town Councillor Mogie Maher and Sylvia Bruke, chairperson of the Loughrea playground committee.
