Seetec just the job to tackle unemployment
The Galway office set up by the state to deliver job prospects for the long-term unemployment is itself celebrating three years in business.
And to mark their anniversary, staff from the Seetec Centre in Eyre Square joined colleagues from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection to reflect on three years of success.
Seetec is contracted by the Department to deliver the JobPath service which aims to help the long-term unemployed and those furthest from the labour market back into work.
Since the centre’s opening in September 2015, Seetec Galway has helped more than 1,400 people find full-time employment.
It has successfully partnered with an estimated 600 employers in Galway City and County and currently has over 1,400 participants active with the service.
CEO of Seetec Ireland, Mouna Prenty, said that they continue to grow stronger in Galway with their ties within the community.
“Our partnerships with Galway employers have been vital to this success and we look forward to these relationships going from strength-to-strength,” she said.
“It goes to show how dedicated people are to support those who are unemployed,” she added.
The Seetec Centre is based at Hibernian House, Eyre Square and while delivered from the city, it provides an outreach service in Tuam, Loughrea, Clifden, Carraroe and Ballinasloe.
