Second plan for waste plant in Tuam
A formal planning application has been submitted for an anerobic waste digestion biogas plant in Tuam.
Liam Furey is seeking planning for the plant at Cloontooa.
The plans include a waste storage building, offices, a control room, a weigh bridge, site office, digester and storage tanks, access roads and parking.
The plans for the 499kilowatt plant follow the withdrawal of plans by Bernard Hynes for another biogas plant at Airglooney.
That proposal, which had been the subject of an oral hearing, had received opposition from locals.
This latest application for a waste digestion plant at Cloontooa, is due to be decided upon before the beginning of June.
