SECOND BODY FOUND IN SEARCH OFF CLEGGAN COAST

Search teams for two missing fishermen have found a second body off the Cleggan coast in Connemara

The operation involving the Clifden lifeboat, coastguard helicopters from Shannon and Sligo and an Aer Corp ‘Casa’ plane began at around 11 o’clock this morning.

It was launched after a member of the public spotted an upturned currach at Aughrus Point

The two fishermen, both believed to be locals, took the boat out to sea at around 8.30 this morning to check on lobster pots.

The body of the first man was recovered from the sea off Omey Island around 3pm, and the second body was found this eveming
