Searching for Pearls

NOW that the Arts Festival has cultured us and the Races have emptied our pockets it’s that time of year to get ready for gorging on molluscs.

And the traditional start to the Oyster season begins with the search for this year’s face of the Galway International Oyster festival.

Business and local organisations are invited to nominate a young woman who will represent their organisation in a competition to be this year’s Oyster Pearl.

The winner will be selected at a glittering banquet hosted by RTE personality Marty Whelan in the Ardilaun Hotel on Thursday, September 13.
