A company which has proposed a seaplane service between Galway and Dublin is still awaiting a licence.

Harbour Flights Ireland Limited announced their interest in the route following Aer Arann’s annoucement to end the service in April.

It was supposed to be up and running by next month but the facilities are not yet in place at Galway Docks.

The company is awaiting approval from the Irish Aviation Authority for their main base in Co Clare before construction can begin.

Plans to begin a Galway-Limerick route have been halted as an appeal has been lodged to An Bord Pleanala.
