Seán Keane concert for Connemara Mussel Festival

Singer Seán Keane will be in concert in Tullycross Church on Friday, April 29, as part of the opening ceremony for this year’s Connemara Mussel Festival.

Caherlistrane man Sean is a member of one of Ireland’s most celebrated musical families, with a long tradition of music and singing on both sides.

After a series of collaborations in the 1980s – including working with fellow- performers such as Sharon Shannon, Máirtín O`Connor and Frances Black –  he went solo in 1993, when his album All Heart No Roses was chosen as Debut Folk Album of the Year by Q Magazine. Since then, Seán has released seven solo albums and collaborated on many others.

His repertoire encompasses trad, pop, blues and country, all sung in his own unique voice.

His latest album, Seán Keane Live, was recorded in Paddy Coyne’s Pub, Tullycross last year and was broadcast on T4G as a Christmas Special in 2015.

Seán’s concert is just one of many events in The Connemara Mussel Festival programme. There will also, be cookery demonstrations and competitions, walks, talks, informal music sessions and a range of children’s events.
