Saw Docs get back into studio!

The Saw Doctors look set to get back together in Galway next month to write some new songs, following an 18-month ‘sabbatical’.

Talks took place in Dublin on Tuesday on the future of the band, and it was decided that Davy Carton and Leo Moran will meet up in Galway for a week in November to write new material.

That could mean the legendary Tuam band could be back in the recording studio early next year, and performing gigs by the summer.

Manager Ollie Jennings told the Connacht Tribune: “We had a meeting in Dublin, and it went well. It was the first meeting in 18 months. We’ve agreed to meet up again in November for a few days and maybe get back writing songs.

“Absolutely nothing is definite, but I have every confidence that the Saw Doctors will be back in 2015,” he said.

He said the band decided in November 2012 to take a sabbatical when they finished up a tour of America in March 2013 due to fatigue.

Singer Davy is currently living in England with his partner and seven-month-old daughter.

“The break has gone on a bit longer than we thought; Davy has a young daughter, so he’s kept busy!” said Ollie.
