SAVITA REPORT BEING HANDED OVER TO HER HUSBAND

A HSE draft report into the death of Savita Halappanavar at University Hospital Galway last October, is being handed over to her husband today.

Praveen Halappanavar’s solicitor Gerard O’Donnell is currently meeting the chief operating officer of the HSE’s Galway-Roscommon hospital group Tony Canavan.

Praveen will be invited to make contributions and seek adjustments to the report, should he see fit to do so.

Savita Halappanavar was 31 years old when she died after being admitted to University Hospital Galway 17 weeks into her pregnancy.

The HSE inquiry set up in the wake of her death was tasked with identifying any shortcomings in her care.
