SALTHILL WOMAN TO STAND TRIAL FOR THEFT FROM BUILDING SOCIETY ACCOUNT

A 50-year-old woman has been sent forward for trial charged with the theft of €25,000 which was allegedly lodged by another woman into her building society account by mistake.

Theresa Murray of 139 Clybaun Road in Salthill is charged with stealing the money on May 21, 2005, at Irish Nationwide Building Society, Nationwide House, Grand Parade, Dublin, which was the property of Vivienne McCourt.

Detective Garda Siobhan Moore from the Bureau of Fraud Investigation, gave evidence at Galway District Court of serving a book of evidence on Ms Murray.

Judge Mary Fahy sent the accused forward for trial to the next sittings of Galway Circuit Criminal Court, starting on April 9.
