SALTHILL MAN JAILED FOR TAKING INDECENT PHOTOS OF WOMEN

A 21 year old Salthill man was sentenced to seven months in prison this week after pleading guilty to taking pictures with his mobile phone while holding it up under young women’s skirts in the City.

Brendan Beatty, of 30 Lenaboy Gardens, Salthill, pleaded guilty under the Public Order Act, to engaging in insulting and abusive words or behaviour at Boots, Shop Street, on November 14 last.

At Galway District Court, Judge Mary Fahy said the offences had caused great trauma for the three young women concerned.

She said there was the added fear that the images could be put on the Internet.
