Ryan Sheridan at Monroe’s
Multi-instrumentalist Ryan Sheridan will play Monroe’s Live this Saturday, July 13.
Monaghan-born Ryan was plucked from obscurity in 2010 after a promising stage career, which included tours with Riverdance, seemed to have ground to a halt. However, when he had all but given up hope, he was discovered playing Mumford & Sons’ Little Lion Man on Grafton Street by his current manager and hasn’t looked back since.
Within four months of that, Ryan released the top 20 hit, Jigsaw, and soon followed it up with The Dreamer, perhaps best known for its appearance on a Heineken ad. In 2011, his debut album, The Day You Live Forever entered the Irish charts at number two and was certified platinum in this country.
Ryan’s energetic stage-presence and his driving, percussive guitar playing style, have wowed fans from the O2 to Oxegen to Croke Park and in 2011, he played US President Barack Obama.
Ryan Sheridan returns to Monroe’s Live this Saturday, 13 July, with support from Conor Quinn. Tickets at €20 from Monroe’s Live, Dominick Street. Doors open at 8pm.
