THE long-running row involving former Mayor of Galway City Cllr Padraig Conneely and officials of the local authority is understood to have been resolved.

During the stand-off, following remarks made by the former Mayor, a number of officials refused to co-operate with him.

The current Mayor of Galway Cllr Michael Crowe was appointed as a mediator, and after last evening’s special co-option meeting of the city council, it is understood the matter was resolved.

Neither Mayor Crowe or Cllr Conneely were willing to comment on the issue today but both confirmed that a resolution had been reached regarding the matter.
