Nobody was elected on the third count in the Roscomon-Galway constituency when just 88 votes were distributed.

It looks like Michael Fitzmaurice may have to wait until the fifth count to get the second seat as he is still 457 shy of the quota.

Two candidates have now been eliminated from the race – Tony Coleman (Ind), who had 237 votes, and Miriam Hennessy (GP), who had a total of 307 votes.

Maura Hopkins (FG) is now on 7,324, still only slightly ahead of Eugene Murphy (FF) with 7,162.
