Roots and rock at Monroe’s

Dublin singer-songwriter Eoin Glackin plays Monroe’s Live on Friday, April 19. He recently released his new single New World Blue, a taster track from his second LP, which will be released in early 2013.

After moving to London, Eoin spent some years playing on the club and pub scene, slowly building a reputation as a powerful and talented performer.

He managed to acquire a management agency, wrote a strong catalogue of songs and piqued the interest of record producer Ian Grimble, whose CV included work for artists like The Clash, Beth Orton and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Eoin’s writing and passionate performance style brought him to the attention of Sony Music Ireland, with whom he inked a deal. He went on to release his debut album Not Lost in summer 2011.

Eoin toured extensively throughout Ireland and the UK, promoting the album and building a strong live following.

After parting company with Sony Music, Eoin set about independently recording his new album, with Ian Grimble returning to the helm. The new LP, titled Rain Finally Came was released this year and the lead track New World Blue is a taste of the roots-rock record to come.

Doors 10pm, admission €8 . Support is from Seán Óg.
