A Romanian woman has been further remanded to appear in court next week charged with handling stolen items from Lackagh cemetery in Turloughmore.

30 year old Crisa Rostas with an address at a rented house in Loughgeorge, Claregalway is charged with handling statues and crosses from the cemetery, at her home on October 4th this year.

At Galway District Court, Garda Patricia Sloyan told the court she charged Rostas with an additional seven counts of handling the stolen items.

She explained Rostas replied “me no steal nothing” in response to one of the new charges.

Judge Mary Fahy remanded Rostas in custody with consent to bail as set by the High Court with conditions.
