RNLI ARAN ISLANDS LAUNCH OVERNIGHT

The Aran Islands branch of the RNLI  launched last evening following reports of flares between Inis Meáin and Inis Mor.(27/03)

Valentia coastguard alerted the lifeboat station on Kilronan at around quarter to ten.

The RNLI searched between the two Aran Islands for almost an hour and a half but stood down as there was no evidence of boats in trouble.

Speaking to Galway bay fm, Seamus O’ Fhlaitheartha of the RNLI lifeboat station praised people for reporting anything suspicious on waters, which could save lives.
