Galway County Council is to present revised plans for tennis courts and all-weather pitches at the Palace Grounds in Tuam.

It comes following concern from the Town Council that a green area at the Palace Grounds, close to Presentation Secondary School would be replaced.

The plans form part of a multi-million euro development by Joe O’ Toole to provide a high quality urban space, an hotel, shops and a nursing home in the area.

It includes an inner relief road for Tuam town.

A meeting between the County Council and Town Council took place yesterday, where members and officials walked around the site at the Palace Grounds.

Mayor of Tuam, Sally Ann Flanagan, says they’ve asked the County Council to come back with revised plans.
