RESULT OF AVIVA UNION BALLOT TODAY

The result of a ballot of UNITE union members at insurance company, Aviva, will be announced this morning.

The ballot looks for a mandate for industrial action if jobs are relocated or staff are made redundant before agreements are reached.

Aviva announced last month that 950 jobs would go at the company’s facilities in Galway, Cork, Dublin and Laois.

Aviva employs around 200 people at its call centre in Knocknacarra and 10 more at its branch in Eyre Square.
