RESOLUTION TO PORTIUNCULA HOSPITAL DISPUTE

Industrial action by nurses at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe has been lifted following a meeting between the Irish Nurses Organisation and the HSE in Dublin.

Both sides agreed to an independent inquiry into the suspension of two senior nurse managers at Portiuncula.

The dispute had resulted in a lunctime protest last week and the threat of increased industrial action over the coming weeks.
