RESIDENTIAL LAND IN ORANMORE COULD BE DEZONED
Date Published: 03-Jun-2011
A large portion of undeveloped land in Oranmore, which is designated residential, could be de-zoned if new proposals are adopted.
Galway County Council intends to review the Oranmore, Athenry and Loughrea local area plans to prepare new plans for each.
Issues outlined for Oranmore include the possibility of putting double yellow lines on one side of the street through the village.
As a result, parking would only be permitted on one side of the street, reducing traffic congestion.
The background issues for each area have gone on public display at County Buildings, Prospect Hill, the Oranmore, Athenry and Lackagh electoral area offices and the libraries in each respective area.
The deadline if you want to give your input to the plans is Friday July 1st.
