Rescued seal to be release at Salthill

A rescued seal called Hero will be released into the water in Salthill today (Sunday).

The seal was only a few days old when she was found by a fisherman at Renville Pier in Oranmore in June after getting separated from her mother.

Following a lenghty rehabilitation at a seal sanctuary in Wexford, Hero has reached a healthy adult weight of 35 kilograms, and is ready to fend for herself.

She will be released into the sea at Ladies Beach in Salthill at 3pm on Sunday. (27/10)
