RESCUE OPERATION UNDERWAY FOLLOWING FALL AT TWELVE BENS

A rescue operation is currently underway to extract an injured man from one of the Twelve Bens in Connemara.

It’s understood the man fell during a hiking trip with a group of friends on Ben Lettery.

The alarm was raised just after 3pm after attempts to move the man were unsuccessful.

A team from Galway Mountain Rescue are currently making their way to the spot where the man took the fall.
