RENT PRICES CONTINUE TO FALL IN GALWAY

Rent prices continue to fall in Galway city and county.

The final 3 months of 2011 saw a 1.2 per cent drop in rent prices in the city to an average of 747 euro compared to the same time the previous year.

The drop is bigger in the county with a 2 and a half per cent reduction in rent prices to an average of 558 euro.

According to Daft.ie, rents in the city are now almost 19 percent below their peak in 2007.

In the county, rental prices are now almost a quarter lower than their peak.
